Almost everyone chooses a blogging platform according to their budget.
For instance, if someone started with paid hosting and domain but with time he couldn't pay for it and he wants to shift on free resources. Then there is a shifting process.
WordPress and Blogger are two famous platforms for blogging.
Blogger is a google product that gives free hosting and you can connect your custom domain to it.
WordPress is another platform for blogging, where you have to buy shared hosting and domain.
Today's topic is about how to shift from WordPress to blogger.
WordPress is always the preferred platform for everyone but due to budget problems, anyone is constrained to shift on the free resources.
Let's start our topic.
Shifting from WordPress to blogger contains the following steps.
1: Export WordPress data
As if you are already working on WordPress then you must have some pages and posts there and you want to transfer all data to blogger. Then just follow this step.
Open your WordPress admin page. In side menu Click on Tool>Export. On the export page, there is an option for exporting
•All data
•Pages
•Posts
•Templates
You can select all data or separately posts and pages and then click on export. An XML file will be export to your computer.
Now, forward to the next step.
2: Convert Export data to Blogger Format
WordPress export data in WXR format which is WordPress readable format and blogger could not read this. So we have to convert this export to blogger readable format.
For this, just go to WordPress-to-blogger-converter and there you can convert data to blogger format. There you can read instructions for how to convert your file to blogger format.
One important point, you can convert small files to blogger format which is almost less then 1 Mb, so if you have large files, then you can export data from WordPress separately as I told you, pages and posts separately.
As you can see all instructions about WordPress to blogger conversion, so you can easily convert export files here.
After getting blogger formatted files from there then move to the next step.
3: Create Blogger Account and Setup Blog
Now just go to Blogger, click on Start A Blog. And sign up using your Gmail and make a blog. Name the blog as it is in WordPress. This is because posts should be relatable.
As you can see, just go to Blogger.com and click on create your blog and start your journey.
Check availability for your desired name, if not available, go for name with a word change and check availability.
Choose themes which is default by blogger. You can change it later.
Next, choose the web address as it is in WordPress but you will get Blogspot.com. which can be changed later by connecting the custom domain.
Now your Blog is ready.
Let's move to the next step for importing.
